PEAT SUBSTITUTES AND SUBSTRATE ADDITIVES

bark products

By processing raw bark into bark mulch and bark humus suitable for substrate, important horticultural products are created. As part of the processing, domestic softwood bark in particular is composted, crushed and fractionated. This creates a natural peat substitute that releases very little energy.

bark humus

Bark humus is composted, shredded and fractionated bark to which nutrients can be added. This substrate additive has the advantage that if too much decomposing material is added, the structure and thus the castability of the substrate are improved.

Bark humus also has a high exchange capacity, resulting in good nutrient and pH buffering.
